Mount Pakenham is fortunate to have an outstanding team of certified instructors each year, dedicated to teaching you & your young ones the joys of skiing and snowboarding. Who is the certifying body for ski and snowboard instructors in Canada & what does becoming certified entail?

CASI – How to become a Snowboard Instructor
All certification courses are run through the national organization (CASI or CSIA). These professional certifications are recognized throughout Canada & many parts of the world. Once you become certified & a member of the organization, it opens up many different avenues of continued learning & skill development through their different levels of certification. Most ski resorts in Canada & worldwide require instructors to have an instructor certification.
Does Mount Pakenham host any instructor certification courses?
Mount Pakenham will typically host a CSIA and a CASI Level 1 instructor course each December, and sometimes again later in the season. The minimum requirement to get involved & register for a certification course is to be at min. 14yrs old & a strong intermediate skier/snowboarder.
