Temporary Provincial Shutdown Update
We will be TEMPORARILY "pressing pause" on operations starting 5:00pm December 24th, 2020
Unfortunately, we received some devastating news yesterday (December 21, 2020). Doug Ford and the Government of Ontario have thrown the ski industry a major curve ball in announcing that all "ski hills are closed" for a Province-wide Shutdown. Alongside the Ontario Ski Industry, we are diligently working with Local Health Units and MPPs to get this order amended. We believe outdoor activity through skiing, snowboarding & snowshoeing is essential to the physical and mental well-being of our communities. If you agree please consider reaching out to your local MPP and ask them to support safe outdoor recreation through the ski hills in your community.

We will keep you informed as we receive more information. The health and well-being of our staff and guests is important to us, and we are committed to finding the balance required for safe operations this winter. We really appreciate all your encouragement and support during this time.
Date-Specific Lift Tickets & Rentals that have been pre-booked online for the dates that we will be temporarily shut down will be automatically cancelled & refunded within 14 days.
Lessons that were scheduled on dates that we will be temporarily shut down will be automatically held as a credit on your reservation account with the associated Snow School administration fees waived.
Passholders: We intend to REOPEN as soon as this temporary Provincial “Shutdown” allows, with hopes to extend the season past our standard closing date (mid-March). Any Value Vouchers dated during the temporary closure may be used on Fridays in February/March.
Ontario is currently the only jurisdiction in North America that has banned ski resorts from offering any outdoor recreation. The Government had previously guaranteed us permission to run our business through all stages including the “grey / Lockdown” stage. Yesterday they created a new “Shutdown” stage and specifically stated that "Ski hills are closed" while other outdoor recreation facilities have the ability to stay open.
Ontario Resorts had no forewarning from the Province of any temporary closures. We appreciate your understanding as we adapt our plans after the introduction of this unexpected “Shutdown”. Hope to see you safely on the slopes as soon as possible!
NOTE: Each booking requires detailed administration, we appreciate your patience as we take the time to address your inquires. Please refer to our 2020-21 Cancellation Policies. Any additional inquiries may be emailed to ski@mountpakenham.com
